Wishlist for iPhone - UI: Call Button

Here are my two (small) ideas for the next version of iPhone (iPhone 5) or iOS user-interface. A short wishlist including two small suggestions for the Apple developers to make iPhone UI simpler and more user-friendly.

Quick Call Button
As you can see above, I would add a quick contact (call) button to the iPhone home interface. One of the points - or better to say, the main point of having an iPhone is to have a phone, it means the consumer wants to make a call with the phone. Currently, to make a call you need to 1. Press the home button, 2. Slide / Unlock, if you were not previously on "Phone" app then, 3. Press the Phone icon to go to Phone app, then 4. Either go to Contacts or to Keypad to dial your number or select a contact to call.
This isn't that bad, but imagine if you have an emergency call, this process would be long. I remember the time that we were using analog phones, it was so simple, just pick up and dial.
The suggested button above, could make iPhone interface more user-friendly I believe.

My another idea is again about the Call button. As you see in the screen below, I would design a CALL button to the contact page, where you have your contact details:

As a Mac-user or iOS-user lately, having current interface to make a call is enough clear, but to some people especially who aren't much familiar with Apple/iOS interfaces this couldn't be obvious. I got recently two new iPhone 4S users asking me how to make a call as they didn't know where to push to make a call. This green button that I visualized in the picture above, could help make the interface simpler and clearer to the new iOS consumers.

Ref Game Updated Again

Football Referee has been updated again. Now it's beta version 1.5. I've added load & save option which does function with level codes. If you promote to a higher level, it will give you a code so you can next time enter the code and start with the gained game level.
Now this ref game has three game levels. The first and second levels have random factors, for the third level I will be adding random scenes soon.

Some rumors say that EA is planning to increase the price for FIFA 12, the game which is expected to be released this fall.

However the fans have always suggested that the price for the FIFA series game should be cheaper, it seems EA Sports want to sell this game even more expensive than before.

There is recently a voting poll opened at FIFPlay to FIFA fans to collect their feedback for this issue. The options for this poll are either they want it to be cheaper or to have same price as FIFA 11.

Extract Thumbnail Images from a YoutTube Video

As you may know, YouTube uses a server image to store thumb images for the videos. This server is hosted under domain i.ytimg.com.

Using i.ytimg.com server you can extract thumbnail files of any YouTube videos as an image URL. The only thing you need to have is the URL of the video. For example, FIFA 12 First Video can be found here on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAHXwCWXGEo and I want to extract its thumbs to use it on my homepage.

In the URL above, you can see the URL parameter which defines zAHXwCWXGEo as for variable "v". What you need to extract from this URL is the video ID, which is zAHXwCWXGEo.

Now you can use this video ID with i.ytimg.com to get the video thumbs as below:
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/zAHXwCWXGEo/1.jpg

There are four thumb images for a video, i.ytimg.com options are:
- 0.jpg (Image size: 480 x 360 px)
- 1.jpg (Image size: 120 x 90 px)

PSN is Back in Singapore

Finally, after about one and half month, PlayStation Network have resumed its PSN services in Singapore today.

PSN online gameplay for PS3 and access to account management have already gone live and users can login to PSN. They only need to set a new password for their account to login, but other features like PlayStation Store will not come back online until end of this month.

The good news for me was that now I can signin to EA Server and play FIFA 11 online - If EA Servers are 100% ok. I hope EA fix the connection issues between the game and EA servers for FIFA 12.

The video introduces a new feature of FIFA 12 which called Player Impact Engine. The new FIFA physics engine which is built to deliver real-world physicality in every interaction on the pitch. In FIFA 12, players feel more resilient on the ball, push and pull during the fight for possession, and recover from light challenges more easily, preserving their natural momentum.

Things A Referee Must Know Before He Goes to A Match

A football referee must be familiar with all 17 laws of the game. Before a match can start it is the referee's duty to take care of all participants and inspect the pitch and players to ensure a safe game. Here is a to-do list for the referee before he or she allows game play:

Field of play - Size of the field must be standard (Length: minimum 120m (130 yards) & maximum: 90m (100 yard) - Width: maximum 90m (100 yards) & minimum 45m (50 yards)).
There must not be any dangerous elements on the pitch.
The pitch must be safe and clean (Bad weather must not affect the field).
Pitch markings and corner flags must be checked by the referee, boundaries of the field have to clearly marked. The lines should not be more than 12cm (5 inches) wide.
The center line should be clearly marked as it helps the referee to see that all players are in their half at kick-off and to decide on offside.
The corner arc must be clearly marked in each corner. The player taking the corner kick is allowed to put the ball any place inside the quarter circle.
Goalposts and the crossbar must have the same width and depth (12cm - 5 inches). They must not be dangerous to players. If the crossbar falls down or breaks, the referee must stop the game until it's been fixed or replaced then the referee can restart the game with a dropped ball at the place where the ball was stopped. If it was near to the goal area the ref should take the ball to the nearest point on the goal area and drop it on the edge of the goal area. If repair is not possible, the match cannot continue.
The Ball. The ball must have the FIFA logo on it to ensure that it has the standards to play in an official match. If the ball is burst or becomes soft during the game and the referee stops the match to replace it, he should restart the match with a dropped ball. If this happens while the ball is out of play, the game will start with the usual restart.
Players. A match may not start if either team has less than seven players. Neither should it not continue if there are fewer than seven players in either team. Before kick-off and before a player is substituted, the referee should check the players to see if they wear anything that may create a dangerous situation for other players or themselves. Rings and jewellery should be removed or taped. Religious symbols are allowed if they are not dangerous.

Football Referee Game New Updates

The first updates have been applied to Football Referee game.

Now, there are random factors in the game. It means each scene has more than one scenario behind, so each time you play the game, only one of these scenarios randomly appears for you to judge, therefore the game difficulty will be harder.

For example, in a scenario that you supposed to decide if the ball is in or not, there are two scenes to show at the back-end, but the one you see is one of them which is chosen randomly.

Another update to the game is the fix of some browser compatibility issues. Mostly with Internet Explorer. But still we have the issue with PS3 browser.

The next plan is to add even more scenes to the game and make more than a game to play.

If you're living in Singapore and you have a car, you may be noticed that there is a insurance comparison website which called CompareXpress.

As a designer, I used to do the design for this website and I really liked it. Not that I'm doing advertisement for it, but it's really useful for those who are driving in Singapore or are looking for car insurance, cheap flights or travel insurance.

For example if you need to renew or buy a car insurance, you only need to login to CompareXpress and go through three steps and compare the plans then get a quote.

Imagine if you want to do the same thing offline. Then you need to call a few insurers, talk to their agents, bargain, request a quote (after answering thousands of questions), then compare and come to the decision which plan is the best, then callback the agent and figure it out how to pay and so on ...

But now with this comparison website, you can easily get an insurance quote in a few minutes.

I wish we had a similar website in my country ...

Football Referee Game Launched!

Finally, the beta version of Football Referee game has been launched. Now everyone can play this web-game for free and take over a soccer referee job.

The game is available at http://www.footballreferee.net. Currently beta version, but will have more features and scenes to judge soon.

The game design & development of Football Referee took about 4.5 months. Everything from scratch - Character design, writing story, animation and development. Still need to do alot but need also to get constructive feedback and comments from the gamers to adjust the direction for the next steps.

Image of the Day is the name of my personal photoblog. I post daily a photo taken by myself to this photo weblog. I'm not a professional photographer but am enjoying daily photography.

I started photobloging since September 2002 soon after I bought my first digital camera, Nikon Coolpix 2500 1.5 megapixel. My online daily photography was initially launched as a pop-up page under Ganjineh Online website as "HiTech Shots". Then I was blogging only the photos with relative subject to hi-tech and digital world. Later I changed its name to "Shot of the Day" changing its theme to all interesting subjects.

Currently I'm using three cameras as follow to take photo:
- Canon 450D - 18-200mm
- Sony DSC-W380
- iPhone 4

Of course I prefer to have my Canon 450D to shoot but sometimes I have to take a shot with my iPhone as it's almost always there in my pocket.

New Leagues for FIFA 12

FIFPlay's new voting poll suggesting EA to add some new leagues to FIFA 12. The poll asks which league could be more important to be added to the game, the choices are Dutch 2nd League, Saudi Arabia League, Iran League and Romanian League.

These leagues have never been playable in a football game before. As a suggestion, the two leagues from Middle East (Iranian and Saudi League) could be very interesting being available in FIFA 12.

However FIFPlay isn't an official website of EA and this poll is just a suggestion to EA developers, it seems that the mid-eastern FIFA fans are really excited about it and they want to see their leagues in the game (Especially Saudi FIFA fans).

After googling and some searches on Twitter I realized that many Saudi websites/blogs were encouraging the Arab communities to vote for KSA League, which called Zain Saudi League - If I'm not wrong.

This poll will be ended soon and we will have a new similar poll but for some other leagues.

Here is a short checklist of what a soccer referee needs to have before a game can play.
However there is no official checklist from FIFA / IFAB, some local associations or federation do have a checklist for their referees.

Referee Uniform
Referee Gear (Whistle, watch, cards, coin, notebook, game pads, pen/pencil)
Books & References (Laws of the Game, Game formats)

Before a game can be kicked-off the football referee must also do inspection on the pitch and players to ensure everything is safe to play and there is nothing that could be dangerous to players.

FIFA 12 Wishlist

FIFA 12 wishlist page already has been opened at FIFPlay website and FIFA fans have submitted over 600 ideas so far.

I believe that FIFA is the first and only video game which is getting developed based on direct consumer feedback and ideas. Since 2007, the year in which FIFPlay started working and getting feedback from the gamers, many of changes and improvements amended in the game. For example in gameplay, game features and especially in the number of the official leagues.

I remember the features like "Be A Pro" and "Be A Goalkeeper" have originally come up by gamers.

This helped EA to keep this game always on top 10 of best selling list. The previous versions of FIFA game sold 100 million copies around the globe. [+]

Many people are complaining about FIFA 11, however this game still sells and most of the fans believe that it is the best football game ever.

AW, Electronic Arts will be releasing FIFA 12 next year for sure and I guess its developers are always happy to hear FIFA fans voice.

Dr. Ernest's Family

"Doctor Ernest's Family" (Originally: The Swiss Family Robinson: Flone of the Mysterious Island) is an anime series produced by Japanese animation studio, Nippon Animation.

This cartoon TV series was on Iranian local TV in 80s. Iran TV used to change its original name which is "The Swiss Family Robinson: Flone of the Mysterious Island" to "Doctor Ernest's Family". I have no idea why they did do that, but my guess is either because of copyright issue or because of the word "Swiss" within the series name.

Anyways, it's been one of my favorites series ... I remember that during my era, there were many of Nippon Animation productions on Iranian TV like The New Adventures of Maya the Bee and Arabian Nights: Sinbad's Adventures.

On Youtube you can hardly find a video of this anime series, I even cannot find a short video of one of its episodes, it seems Nippon Animation is very sensitive about this product.

I suggest you to watch The Swiss Family Robinson anime series if you haven't watched it before. Its story is cool and kind of educative for children.

Save Energy on iPhone and Extend its Battery Life

Since Apple iPhone as an useful smartphone has capabilities to function as a mini computer and people are using it for many purposes, almost everyone complains about its battery life which usually lasts 2 or 3 days.

In this post, I'm gonna share some tips with you to save energy on iPhone battery. By using these tips, my iPhone's battery lasts 5 days after a full charge.

Turn off the Wi-Fi
Turn Wi-Fi radio when you are not online. iPhone Wi-Fi radio keeps scanning every few seconds, this uses lots of energy. You can also turn off Bluetooth, GPS and 3G besides of Wi-Fi.

Lower the screen brightness
The brighter the more energy wasting. Lower down the backlight.
You can also choose wallpapers that are not very bright.

Disable vibrate
This is also killer, disable it when you don't need it.

Avoid using camera flash
iPhone's - especially iPhone 4's camera is fast, you don't need to use flash when your environment is bright enough.

Less multitasking
Try to do less multitasking and running apps in background. The more apps you run in background the more energy you use to keep it running.

Email checking
Check your email not every few second. Fetch new email less frequently.

Turn it down
Turn down your ringtone and the general volume. You can also turn off some sound alerts which are in Sounds setting - like Sent Mail, Lock Sounds or Keyboard Clicks.

Track your battery life
Turn on the Battery Percentage option which located in Setting > Usage. It shows you the percentage of your remaining battery on top bar.

How to Customize Image Thumbnail on Facebook Link Sharer

As you know, Facebook's, Digg's and some other social bookmarking's sharer have a crawler that can extract content including page title, page description and embedded images from your page before you share your link.

Sometimes, your page doesn't have any image or you're not happy with embedded image to use it as a thumbnail and you rather customize your image and use some other images.

This is very simple! You just need to include a meta tag in your page HTML source which points to your customized image. This meta tag called "image_src" and should be added inside <HEAD> portion. Here is an example:

<link rel="image_src" href="http://www.domainname.com/images/my_thumb.gif" />

As you see, this meta tag links to http://www.domainname.com/images/my_thumb.gif, which is a thumbnail image.

Once you include this tag to your HTML code, Facebook, Digg and other social bookmarking crawlers will show your thumbail while your thumbnail is not visible in your page itself.

Another way to put a custom image for a page is to make your image hidden using CSS selectors.
To do this, you can use "visibility: hidden " and "display: block" together within your IMG tag - and also set width and height to zero:

<img src="http://www.domainname.com/images/my_thumb.gif" style="visibility: hidden; display: block;" width="0" height="0">

Depends on your layout and CSS, you can put this image anywhere you want.
With this method you have the option to put more than one thumbnail in your page.

Web Design & Development - CSS Issues in IE6: DIV Height

It seems that Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) doesn't respect the height of DIV, especially when you're setting a small amount of height size like 10px.
To solve out this issue, you should set overflow:hidden, or change the font-size or line-height of your DIV in CSS.

EA Sports announced the features of FIFA 11 for Wii. One the the most interesting features of this football game is the street soccer.

FIFA Soccer 11 for Wii will include 5-aside street soccer in it. Something like FIFA Street. It also look like Futsal - the feature that many fans asked for before.

Sore Throat Remedy

I thought it might be useful if I share my little experience to cure sore throat here ... I was having a sore throat with phlegm and visible infection in back of my throat, which was a really painful and boring situation :| ... Also I didn't have salt to mix with hot water to gargle. The only thing I had was a lemon!

I squeezed it and had it mixed with hot water and then gargled it. I also drank it a bit after gargle. It really helped.

The pain has gone and phlegm and infections have come out after it.

iPhone 4 Release Date in Singapore

iPhone 4 has already been released in Europe and North America, but not yet in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

For Mac and iPhone fans who are living in those parts of the world, it's a bit tough to wait long time for this new product of Apple.

SingTel and StarHub are the only providers who sell iPhone in Singapore. They haven't yet officially announced the release date for iPhone in Singapore, but I heard from someone - who is a senior manager at SingTel, that iPhone 4 will be released on Friday, July 23rd, 2010 across Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

If it is true or not, I leave it to him ... We'll see, July 23rd isn't that far away.

FIFA 11 New Features

Here are the new features for upcoming football game from EA Sports, FIFA 11 - which officially introduced until today, more features will be introduced soon:

Personality+
which is an online dynamic system intended to improve the way that players’ individual abilities are reflected in-game, resulting in clearer differentiation between players.

Pro Passing
A new passing system where the gamer’s own accuracy with the control pad, as well as the situation and skills of the players on the pitch, determines the accuracy of each pass.

Creation Zone
An editor for FIFA 11 Next-Gen (PS3 and Xbox360) that allows user to create/edit teams and players in FIFA 11.

Internet Sharing with Mac OS and PlayStation 3 (PS3)

Playing online with PS3 is really fun. Me, am a FIFA online player who is quite addicted to play FIFA game (FIFA 10) and 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa game on PlayStation 3 @ PlayStation Network.

Since I've moved my house and the new place doesn't have broadband cable yet, I got an USB WiMAX broadband internet, but the bad thing with this device is that PS3 doesn't recognize it ... well, it's not supposed to.

But in the other hand, PS3 has wireless connection, so does my MacBook Pro, and Apple Mac OS X Leopard allows you to share internet connection through its wireless networking, AirPort. It means you can share your internet connection with other devices such as other computers, handheld devices and video-game consoles like PlayStation 3 and Xbox360 which have wireless networking.

Here is the instruction of how to share your internet connection on Mac OS with a PS3 machine - I found this solution on the net:

- Connect your Mac to Internet.
- Open System Preferences (From Applications folder or your Dock), go to Sharing (Under Internet & Networking).
- Activate Internet Sharing, then select Airport.

- Open a Terminal (from Applications folder > Utilities folder).
- Type cp /etc/bootpd.plist /tmp/bootpd.plist in Terminal window.

- Go back to Sharing (System Preference) and then deactivate Internet Sharing (deselect).

- Open "bootpd.plist" file in a text editor. This file is located at /tmp/bootpd.plist. You can use TextEdit program (Can be found on Dock) to edit this file.
If you don't know how to go there, open a Finder, from the top menu bar on Desktop, click on "Go" and then select "Go to Folder ...", then type /tmp/
Then you can see the bootpd.plist file there. Right click on it and then Open With TextEdit.

- Then try to find this script which is located near the end of file:
<key>reply_threshold_seconds</key>
<integer>4</integer>

- Change the value 4 to 0 - So it should read: <integer>0</integer>

- Go to back to Terminal, type sudo cp /tmp/bootpd.plist /etc

- Start Internet Sharing from System Preferences.

- On PS3, go to Network Setting > Internet Connection Setting
- Select "Easy", then Wireless, then scan and find your connection.

Enjoy online gaming and surfing on PlayStation3 Network!

How to Remove result5.google.com Trojan on Mac OS

As Apple computers are getting more and more popular than before, we are expecting to see new viruses, trojan horses, spyware and malware on Mac OS X.

Recently, I noticed that when I'm googling, my search results are linked to an URL which begins with "result.google.com". Also sometimes, some random pages poping up, the pages which are under URL "search.google-analytics.com", or are redirecting to some random advertising pages.

After some researches, I realized that my MacBook Pro infected with a Trojan horse.

I don't know the name of this Trojan horse, but I found a way to kill this "result5.google.com", "search.google-analytics.com" or "www.google-analytics.com" virus/trojan:

First, I emptied cache of my browsers. I opened Safari, Firefox and Opera, and killed their cache and cookies. In Safari, I also pressed "Reset Safari.." option.

Then I deleted "plugins.settings" file which is located here:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/plugins.settings

After that I have never seen this googley Trojan.

I guess I got it from some black sites with some porn ads on it while I was trying to find some torrent files (moral: Don't download illegally!).

I heard from a friend that this Trojan also infected his iPad.

Things you should know before you go to Bali

I love Bali! I think Bali is one of the most attractive cities in the world.

A place like Ibizza, Mallorca, Antalya and the north of Iran, where you can relax, take sunbath, surf and have fun. No matter you go alone to Bali or with your friend(s) - You'll be never alone in Bali!

Cheap prices and lovely people! But, I would share some useful tips for Bali, make sure you read them before you go there:

- Bargain and bargain! Bargain everything half price, even for the rooms at the hotels!

- Change money before you go to Bali. Buy some Rupiah before you arrive (200k to 300k would be enough)

- Don't change money at unofficial money changer - They usually cheat you!

- Get a map of Bali before you travel.

- Every Baliense can do for you everything for you!! If you walk on the road, the people standing on the road going to offer you many things - like transport, motorbike, car, massage, young lady, magic mushroom, marijuana & ... Even sometimes they offer you girlfriend!! But AW you should be careful and don't forget to bargain if you want to order something.

- Don't go to the mountain with motorbike. It's usually raining and the road is slippery.

- Have 150k Rupiah before you leave the Bali, at the Checkpoint they charge you 150,000 Rupiah.

Body of Lies, a film by Ridley Scott released also in Singapore. The budget for making this film is US$ 70,000,000 but the gross revenue until now is US$ 60,000,000. To compare to other successful movies like The Dark Knight, which had a budget about $180 and a revenue more than $995,000,000, Body of Lies is not a successful product.

AW, one of the reasons that I watched this movie, was Golshifteh, the Persian actress who faced problem in Iran and left the country to US because of the film. I think she played her role very well and she can have successful career in Hollywood in near future.

Technically, not a big project, but it took much more time for design and also development. Tiger beer is a well-known beer in Southeast Asia, so working for this brand is a good deal :)

Finally I could find some graffiti artworks in Singapore. I thought it doesn't exist in this part of the world!

In Europe, US and also my country this type of art is popular. Talking about my country, I remember I saw some of the works of Iranian graffiti artists, A1one near our apartment when I was living in Ekbatan.

I heard the fine for graffiti in Singapore is S$3,500. Someone told me that the artist who painted first graffiti arts in Singapore was an American student.

I don't know about the budget that the Julio Fernández spent as a producer for the film REC, but I guess it shouldn't be much expensive. REC has been directed at its best way and tries to horrify, shock and scare the audiences by shaking and moving the cam rather than showing special effects and bloody scenes.

Angela, the reporter for "While You Sleep" TV program, always is saying to her cameraman, Pablo to record everything ... and the camera films everything even when Angel is in trouble.

Like the other famous horror films, this one also uses zombie terror method, and its director wants to say "to be continued ..." at the ending scene.

New Roommate

My bed is a king-sized bed, however I'm living alone ... But it seems that I have a new roommate since about seven days ago: a small reptile.

He (as you can see him in the photo) is living in my room since last week - or maybe earlier. I don't know why he's afraid of me, I don't want to eat or kill him! I hope he doesn't leave me.

As you may know, lizard can cut off the tail from his body. This is a form of defense. He leaves the tail when he is in a dangerous situation, for example when a predator wants to attack him. His tail is moving when it's cut off, so the predator focuses on tail and lizard can escape.

I heard reptile's tail contains poison ... I'm not afraid of death!

I think everybody in the world heard this news today: Obama is the new US President! The first black president of the United States!

One of the things I always hate is POLITIC. I actually don't care if Obama is US president or McCain or Michael Jackson!!

My question is, why US election is so important for almost all people around the world. Today I saw many Chinese & Singaporean people that were happy because of Barack Obama. And I know there are also many people in my country (Iran) that were following the US election and now they are happy because of the result.

Maybe Iranians should follow this, as the new US president can break the death lock of IR-US relationship - However I believe nobody can change the general policy of this relationship.

Sounds interesting and promising! When you look at my profile at FIFA 09 Online (PS3), you will see my cleansheets are 16.

Clean sheet is a term in soccer, meaning a game in which the team referred to have not conceded any goals. This record shows how your goalie and defenders are good.

In FIFA gaming, this means how strong you are by defending. Until now I played 77 matches. 53 Wins, 24 Loses. That means almost every 3 matches I win 2 games and I lose 1. This is not good at all!

Headache Right

Sometimes I get very very bad headache which's killing me. This ache is usually at the right-side of my head, I think the problem is with my dural sinuses or something like that. Actually I have problem with the right-side of my head.

My right eye is weak, decay on right-side teeth and the headache is always at the right hand side.

I can bear aches, I don't moan! These aches remind me of my dad, when he suffered cancer ... To compare headache with cancer or chemotherapy side effects, headache is nothing.

My dad was strong and calm, I never heard he's moaning while he had killing pain ... god bless him.

Today, I bought new sporty shoes, so I could throw away the old ones - the Chinese ones that I bought in Duessldorf (2007) in a sale for EUR 24,- and wore to go to Berlin, Leipzig, Hannover, Koeln, Tehran, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and then putted in dustbin in Singapore ... "No E-" Day - Proposal

I'm always thinking about a day, on which I avoid of using of any e- (electronic) tools, devices or services.

I know this is difficult, but I need it. For a person like me, who uses computer, internet, mobile, PS3, TV & ... every day, it's hard. I think I'm addicted to "e-" and that's not good over all.

Looking at laptop screen more than 10 hours a day, listening to music by earphones more than 5 hours, watching TV, using mobile phone and ... are not healthy.

Maybe when I'm 50 I will be a hunchback who is blind and deaf.

I think many people in the world need a "No E-" day at least once a year.

I try to have this day on a Sunday or Saturday every two months, and on this day I:

- Turn off my computer
- Don't use Internet
- Turn off my mobile
- Don't watch TV
- Don't play with PS3
- Don't blog!

I hope I can make it ;)

FIFA 09 at Home!

Naja! FIFA 09 for PS3 is there, now I can play this game online every night!

My boss bought this copy of FIFA 09 today, I played with him first and I won - as always :))) I already played the game at GCA 08 and also in EA office, I also downloaded the demo before, but playing the full version at home is diff!

The gameplay is improved and is much better than 08's. Still there are some bugs in the game. I'm going to report them at FIFPlay.

Wish me luck for online play!

These days, I'm working late and sometimes until midnight at the office because of a web- project.

This reminds me of years ago when I was 19 or 20. That time we got some big projects and should work harder. Actually I started to work since I was 15. I didn't work at that age because of money, I worked to gain more experience. I remember I was working after school in IT sector.

That time it was different, Amiga was one of the best platforms in the computing world. You could play game on this machine while you could also run some office software on it.

My job was from data copying to animating in Deluxe Paint software - a software similar to Adobe Photoshop.

I can remember years later, I bought a modem with 9,600kb speed (I think it was 1995). I used that modem to connect to some European BBS networks ... The phone bill for that month was more than 100,000 IRT. My dad paid that bill, he said he's ready to pay even more than that if he knows I'm learning something ... I miss him lot :(

I saw again UFO in my dream. Like the last one, I saw there is a UFO over Tehran. The spaceship was similar to the one I saw days ago.

Upon I got up, I googled to interpret my dream and I found this:
"To see a UFO in your dream, signifies your desires to find your spiritual purpose in life. Alternatively, it indicates that you are feeling alienated from those around you. The dream may also be a metaphor suggesting that you are a little "spacey" or have "spaced out" attitude. You need to be more grounded and come back to reality."

Fuck the reality!! I think this interpretation is true. I believe there are aliens. My belief is that the universe is not created only for us (asshole humans).

Look at this pic! In my opinion, this is the best and simplest way to show the difference between IBM PC and Apple Mac!

See the cars, the old one with messy engine (like PC), but the new one, the engine has only one switch, simple!! Also the drivers. The Apple's driver looks nice and happy, but PC's, pfffffffff!!!

Watching F1 from 45th Floor!

I had the chance to watch F1 Singapore Grand Prix with a view from an office (at floor 45th) to F1 track at marina Bay.

The office of AFG company was open on Sunday and there were about 20 (biz-) people to see the F1 GP with a bird view. I couldn't take some good shots as I don't have a good lens yet!
Singapore Grand Prix was Formula One's first night race. Fernando Alonso (Renault) won the race.

Merlion, Sing and Leomond

Merlion is the symbol of Singapore. The word came from "Mermaid" and "Lion". Merlion statue is the body of mermaid and the head of lion.

I heard, Singapore which is originally Singapura, means the city of lion in Malay language. Sing means Lion, and Pura = City.

This is similar to my logo which I called Leomond. Leo is my sign of zodiac. And Mond means Moon - as I was born on Monday (Moon day).

So, I would say Singapore is now the city of Lion, as I'm living there! Haahahaha!! ;)

No Games Convention 2008 in Leipzig for Me!

Feeding the God!

I went to a Buddhist temple near to my office. It was on Sunday and they have Sunday's prayer.

Outside the temple there were more than 30 tables with foods and fruits on them. I thought first the foods are for people who praying but I asked from a guy who was working and there about this and he said that foods are for Buddhist gods.

I said your gods don't eat them, he answered: "I know! But this is an old tradition". When I asked if they give the foods & fruits to poor people later, he told he doesn't think so and they will throw them away.

I'm not saying that the Buddha religion is not ok - I believe this religion is one of the bests in the world, but I think they way they provide the foods and throw them away is not correct.

I actually am not sure if they throw them away but if it's so, then ...
This is my very personal opinion, I'm not against Buddhism, I'm not racism, I'm not bad :)

I bought a new digital camera: Canon 450D for S$1280 [Incl. the body and lens]. I finally could find the best price for this cam. I think you can find this model for cheaper price in US, and also in Iran - as I talked to bro and he said the price in Tehran is cheaper.

AW, I like it. I hope I can learn more about photography with this cam, and also can update my Image of the Day more than before!

A Note from Dad

My dad usually wrote down the good moments. He always took a note of good things. My sister gave this note to me after funeral ceremony of my dad. My father wrote this note after I called him and informed him that I come to home after a while.

He's written, he got a very good news and that is, his son (me) is coming home after a while. He means he is very happy to hear that, and he wished luck for me and all young boys like me.

Great men never die ... I miss you so much dad :(((

My dad, Aref Fekri passed away on Sunday, 29th of June 2008 at the age of 57 because of Lung cancer :~(
I still cannot believe this. This is the saddest thing in my life! I love my dad, my mom, my bro & my sis more than anyone in the world.

He's left us alone, but I believe he's always there with us, he cares of us even more than before. This is not the end ... we all go the same way.

I could see him at his last. I arrived on Friday's afternoon to home, he went on Sunday 1:40am. My mom and my brosis say he's been waiting to see me after 3 months. He was in comma a week before. They say there was no hope to see him well again. Everybody thought he cannot back from comma, but he came back to life as he wanted to his son before he goes to god.

I didn't know he is in comma - they didn't tell me this.

The week I planned to back to home was one of the happiest weeks in my life. I thought I can go back home after a while, see my family - especially my dad, but ... :((

That's life! We cannot change our fate - this is my belief.

I can see him sometimes in my dreams. He's always with me, he's in my mind and my heart.

I paid S$ 3,088.00 to an Apple Store for a MacBook Pro 4,1 2.4GHz 15" and am very happy :)))

Better UI, Simple functionality, fast and light OS, better file system & structure, better applications & ... are the advantages that make Apple different that Windows.

I would suggest you to switch from Windows to Mac ASAP. If you are a designer, do it right now! Don't waist your time on working with Microsoft Windows!

I like Singapore! The city is damn clean! However it's f**** hot, but interesting. Before I move here, I thought the country it's not much modern. But now I can say it's modern as Europe (not exactly like Europe but ok!).

The office I'm working in is also good. Nice people, comfortable and near to home!

On the first day I came here, I met Said, a nice Lebanese guy, who is our office boy (the guy in black with van dyke beard).

I met him first in Dubai. He told me how to get to the apartment in Singapore. He also gave me $50 Singapore dollars.
When I arrived to Sing and got to apartment, he brought me outside to take a short tour in the city. I was a bit tired because of long flight.

Next year on this day, I donno where I am! maybe Singapore, Dubai, Tehran, Munich, Kabul, in hell!!! Let's C!

Ya! DVD-Girl from China! She comes inside and offers DVD only for 10 Dhs! So cheap!!!
She also mentions very indirectly that she also can offer other services ... hmmmmm!

If you pay 100Dhs or more, then she's yours! The China cutie pretty DVD girl's earning money by very illegal way in an Arab country!
